JOB DESCRIPTION
PRIMARY TITLE:
Short-term Teams' Host
MAKARIOS SCHOOL MISSION STATEMENT:
Makarios will increase educational opportunities based on Biblical truths in order to empower underserved children to positively affect their communities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Unquestioned integrity and commitment to the Makarios Schools’ mission and community.
2. Deep conviction, understanding and acceptance of The Gospel of Jesus Christ.
3. Ability to lead and engage a team of people to support the work of the Makarios School
4. Strong desire to provide increased educational opportunities to underserved children
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
The short-term teams hosts will be in charge of overseeing teams who travel to the Dominican Republic on short-term trips throughout the year. They will help coordinate travel plans to and from the airport and help provide and coordinate meals for the teams, as well as oversee lodging and clean-up for the week. They will instruct the American teams on basic information about the Makarios School and being in the Dominican Republic for a week. They will answer questions from team members, encourage them throughout the week, help facilitate and direct team projects, and help to make their stays as meaningful as possible by becoming a part of the team and leading by example in their interactions with students, teachers, and other missionaries.
COMPENSATION
Individual will raise their full budget for the year, which covers monthly salary and start up costs. Makarios will work with you in this process.
